Plans and Ideas for summer break


Waiting for summer vacations is one of the best things at the end of the year. It is the perfect moment to dream and plan things to do or places to visit. The past few years I travelled with my family to the beach, but at a times it got boring because my parents, uncle and aunt are older and they preferred to enjoy in the house where we were staying. Going out alone in this cases is fun, but sometimes it can be boring and basically that is not a thing that I would like to experience again in the coming summer vacations. Staying in Santiago in January is fun; I usually hang out with my friends in bars and parties, I go to the movies, and also I go out by myself to visit museums and art galleries. For this summer I am planning to travel with my friends. The destination will be Machu Picchu, Perú. We already bought tickets to Arica; we wish to stay a few hours to walk around the city, and after that, we can take the bus to Cuzco. As I said before, the final destination is Machu Picchu, but during the travel we want to take the opportunity of getting to know the places where we will stay as much as we can. I am excited with the idea of traveling to another country with my friends, learning about other cultures and of course meeting new places and people. I am really excited for this summer!

My Future Job

I always liked to work. I got my first job when I was 15, and given the fact that I am still a student, I can only apply for jobs during summertimes. The ones I like most are office jobs; I like the idea of having a cup of coffee every morning as I organize plenty of paperwork, and if I can do that listening to music simultaneously and having lots of tiny «post it» stickers on my desk, it is even better (I love the «post it» stickers!). I honestly feel lucky to be studying Architecture because someday it could give me a good opportunity to have a decent office job. I hope a big company hire me full time once I am done with college. It can be either that, or start my own business, who knows, a degree gives you automatically plenty of possibilities. Santiago Stories

I have thousands of subway and bus stories, but I can not remember all the good ones at this moment. So I am going to talk about one that I experienced with my closest friends. It happened in 2015; we were in our second year at this University and we wondered how the parties were in other Universities around, so we decided to go to Universidad de Santiago (Usach), which is known for making the best parties. Despite having some troubles to get in, we had a good time. The party ended when the police arrived because everything was out control; they even used tear gas to disperse the crowd. So we ran our way out and took a bus straight to the Mc'Donalds store located in Alameda, close to FAU. We were hungry, and while we were eating we started talking about how good the party was, nobody truly wanted to go home! So one of my friends offered her house for us to keep partying at her place. Wanting to visit Iceland

Someday, if I have the chance, I would like to visit Iceland. I knew about the country when I was 17, through an interview I read about Sigur Rós, one of my favorite bands from Iceland along with Björk. After that, I started to read more about the culture of Iceland and also delight myself with pictures of the beautiful landscapes people can watch there, which as I have heard are influenced by the Scandinavian heritage. I know they have lots of legends and an interesting folklore, that is what I like the most. I would like to visit the Vatnajökull glacier, the biggest one in the country, besides their lakes, caves and mountains. I think it is a perfect country to connect with nature, it would be cool to learn more about the local flora and wildlife there. I heard locals are very friendly and respectful with tourists, which motivates me to visit the country even more.
